Dr Aengus Tran
CEO and Co-founder
Trained at UNSW, Dr Tran is a medical doctor and world-ranked Al engineer and data scientist. He invented IVY, the breakthrough Al model that uses machine learning to assist in selecting the best embryo for IVF treatment. In 2018, Dr Tran and his brother, Dimitry launched harrison.ai; an Al company dedicated to making healthcare more efficient and affordable for patients through meaningful collaboration with clinicians.

Dimitry Tran

Dimitry Tran
Co-founder
Dimitry Tran is a medical technologist with over a decade of experience across healthcare startups, international hospital operations and NGOs. He has dedicated himself to increasing the quality and accessibility of healthcare, especially in low-resource settings. Dimitry co-founded the Centre for Health Improvement Research (CHIR), a not-for-profit organisation focusing on improving patient safety in Asia, and authored two books on the topic. He was the Head of Innovation at Ramsay Health Care, one of the largest hospital groups in the world. Dimitry is a member of the Advisory Board at Bond University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine.

Jennifer Mulheron

General Counsel and Company Secretary
Jen joined Harrison.ai as General Counsel & Company Secretary in 2021. Jen is an experienced lawyer with over 11 years of private practice experience from top-tier law firms, specialising in Corporate Advisory and M&A. Jen joined Harrison.ai as she is passionate about the potential for AI in medical applications to advance health and social outcomes. Jen holds a combined Bachelors of Science and Laws from the University of New South Wales.

Dr John Lambert

Dr John Lambert
Chief Medical Officer
For 25 years, John worked as a doctor in NSW Health with 12 of those as Director of a hospital Intensive Care Unit. He’s been creating digital solutions for over three decades, ranging from small business entrepreneurial tools to inaugural roles as Chief Clinical Information Officer of NSW Health, and ANZ Chief Medical Director for DXC technology. John’s passionate about human factors, user centred design and engaging clinicians during the development of digital solutions.

Stephen Ruffels

Stephen Ruffels
Chief Operating Officer
Stephen brings extensive medtech experience to Harrison.ai, with over 15 years in development and commercialisation of medical devices. This has ranged from life support ventiltors to cloud-connected clinical applications and mobile apps. He is passionate about team development and also actively mentors in the startup community. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer) and Master of Engineering (Biomedical) from the University of New South Wales.

Nicole Karagiannis

Chief People and Culture Officer
From the outset Nicole had a passion for people and culture. She studied business and human resources at university eventually progressing to various roles across business, finance and health industries. Friendly, warm, and energetic, Nicole now heads up people and culture at Harrison.ai ensuring the team are supported in their journey to bring better health care to the world.

Thuy Thai

Thuy Thai
Chief of Staff
Thuy’s experience in financial structuring, deal negotiation, operational management, and strategy has stemmed from her work at a multinational investment bank prior to becoming an investment professional at one of Australia’s leading private equity specialised in healthcare. She is passionate about building teams and optimising financial capital to deliver innovative healthcare solutions. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) from the University of Sydney.

Ben Hachey

Ben Hachey
Head of Applied AI
Ben has been in data science roles for over 20 years focusing on applied machine learning and natural language processing with applications in finance, news, law and healthcare. Since 2015, Ben has worked with startups building and leading teams that develop machine-in-the-loop tools to amplify human intelligence. Since 2018, he’s focused on digital health. Ben leads the Applied AI team at Harrison.ai, leveraging vision, language and multimodal AI for clinical medicine. He serves as academic board member for a new data science university in Sydney, and as an Australian representative for the development of the ISO standard for AI.

Ben Johnston

Ben Johnston
Head of Data Engineering
With more than 14 years in medical device design and development experience, Ben has worked across the industry from academia and emerging businesses to some of Australia’s largest medical device companies. He holds honours degrees in Engineering (Mechatronics) and Medical Science and is completing a PhD in applied machine learning. Ben is dedicated to buiding world leading engineering teams that have a positive impact for patients and clinicians by leveraging cutting edge technology and the power of big data.

Jeremy Cheng

Jeremy Cheng
Head of Finance
Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Head of Finance, working in both chartered and commercial roles with a focus on family offices and start-ups, before assuming his current position at harrison.ai. At the same time, he has been an active member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand over the past eight years, marking exams for the financial professionals of tomorrow.

Dr Jarrel Seah

Dr Jarrel Seah
Associate Director of Clinical AI
Jarrel is a medical doctor, radiology registrar, and Al researcher who’s focused on identifying key problems in radiology and developing novel Al models and techniques to solve them. He’s published his work in leading radiology journals and computer vision conferences and is an honorary research associate at Monash University.

Eric Qin

Eric Qin
Head of Global Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance
A biomedical engineer with a PhD in medical imaging from UNSW, Eric has a decade of experience in medical device regulation and quality across both the private and public sectors. This includes senior roles at the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) as an assistant director and a QMS auditor. He is passionate about Artificial Intelligence and has a TensorFlow developer Professional Certificate.

James Wan

James Wan
Head of Intellectual Property
James holds double degrees in Computer Science and Law, a Master of Laws and a Master of IP Law. He is a practising lawyer and patent attorney with 19 years of international experience. He’s created deep learning models and software tools for Legal Tech. James has developed IP strategies and secured IP rights for many well known and successful technology companies. He is a member of the AI Ethics Committee at the ACS, and NSW Committee of AALA.

Pam Stevenson

Pam Stevenson
Head of Talent
A dedicated Talent Acquisition professional, Pam has over 10 years of recruiting experience working across Technology and Analytics functions for the likes of Google and Commonwealth Bank. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce/Arts degree from UNSW and a Bachelor of Teaching degree from the University of Technology, Sydney. Pam cares deeply about people and building future capabilities and takes great pleasure in bringing teams of like-minded and motivated individuals together.
