Improving Quality of Care for 100% Hong Kong Public Accident & Emergency Departments

Hong Kong is a dense, aging metropolis of more than 7.5 million people, served predominantly by a single public provider, the Hong Kong Hospital Authority (HKHA), which manages the majority of inpatient and emergency care across the territory. This large, centralised network delivers high‑quality acute care at scale.

Hong Kong has 17 public hospitals with Emergency Departments, which process ~170,000 non-contrast head CT images a year. As imaging demands increase, non-radiologists, such as emergency physicians, commonly interpret emergency imaging to support timely care.

As a leading hub of innovation in Asia Pacific, the HKHA wanted to explore whether a clinical decision-support AI solution could support non-radiologists in Emergency Departments to detect and triage patients with suspected stroke (ICH) and expedite management of low-risk conscious patients following head CT. Download the case study to see how we worked with them to make this a reality.
