New reporting feature unveiled at RSNA in a move towards developing comprehensive draft radiology reports

Chicago, 27th November 2023– annalise.ai, a global leader in medical imaging AI, is excited to announce Annalise Reporting as the latest addition to their comprehensive AI solutions, providing draft reports, fully integrated into routine radiology reporting workflow. Available with Annalise Enterprise solutions for chest X-ray (CXR) and non-contrast head CT (NCCTB), Annalise Reporting creates comprehensive, pre-filled, editable, draft reports ready for radiologists to review and sign off.

Radiology report writing is a time-consuming task that also requires experience from the radiologists involved. Annalise Reporting aims to alleviate this challenge, and make reporting faster, thereby scaling radiologists’ capacity.

Importantly, Annalise Reporting is backed by the comprehensive approach that is inherent in Annalise solutions. Dr Aengus Tran, co-founder, annalise.ai said, “While narrow AI solutions, which detect a small spectrum of radiological findings, can only produce limited reports, Annalise’s AI detects up to 124 findings on CXRs and 130 findings on NCCTB studies, and therefore aids in creating much more comprehensive draft reports.”

 

Annalise Reporting employs comprehensive AI models, trained on over 1 million clinical studies with over 550 million annotations created by a pool of more than 140 qualified radiologists, to codify the findings into a set of structured interpretations. Draft reports are then generated directly from the findings without the increased risk of potential errors that may be introduced by large language models used today in clinical settings and integrate seamlessly within existing reporting workflows.

Annalise Reporting will be further augmented to make use of all the data present in a radiology exam, including inspiration status, projection and patient position to accurately describe the findings, and configured to generate reports written in structured, semi-structured or narrative styles.

“This solution will provide radiologists with draft reports resembling those crafted by a trusted colleague, streamlining the process with minimal edits and swift sign-off,” Dr Tran added.

The feature is available today to radiologists using Annalise Enterprise solutions in select regions, including Australia, Great Britain, and select countries in South East Asia with more countries added to scope in early 2024.
